Vision Board to Reality
Last week’s Tuesday Talks at 10:30, I mentioned creating a vision board. I thought we’d talk about what they are and how to create one.
Quite simply, it is a board/paper collage with words, pictures, goals on them. When putting images together they help your dreams and goals become reality. You are speaking it into existence which coincides with the law of attraction. What you say and visualize you become. Positive thoughts and actions lead to positive outcomes.
This is a tool used by many people to help motivate and inspire them every day by keeping it in a place seen often. It helps keep you on tract or it gets you back on track if you feel lost or over-whelmed. Using it as a constant reminder has the power to bring positive energy into your sight every day.
A vision board is created with images, quotes, deadline, ideas that represent your goals. You can google clip art or quotes online. Grab some old magazines (sometimes the library has ones to offer), a pair of scissors and some glue or tape and start. You are creating a physical collage that you see frequently.
Things to remember: Set an intention for your goal. Be specific and be positive. Take time to meditate and think about your goal and give yourself a timeline. Take some notes or journal about your vision. Pay attention to your third eye and notice what comes into view. There is no right or wrong way to create your vision, because it is your vision. This can be lifetime, yearly, monthly, weekly or special event goals.
Place confidence into your vision, don’t doubt the ability to achieve it. Use this physical collage to write down and create what you truly want, only you have to understand it.
Examples: A trip, a career, education, side business, a relationship. The sky is the limit. Where is your heart pulling you? What have you always wanted?
My example would be the women’s retreat I am facilitating in Oct in TN. I’m going to create one on my bulletin board that is by my desk. Thoughts would be a quote, “Great things happen when women come together.” A picture of drums for the drum circle, pictures of women connecting, a photo of a full moon that represents one of our sessions, groups of women, the number 20 for the number of openings we have, the dates Oct 17-19, a photo of the cabin, words like healing, grief, tears, joy, goddess, love etc. I’ll post a photo once it is complete.
When creating your board, be positive. This should inspire you, not make you anxious. If dates and deadlines make you nervous use something to represent it. Let’s say you want to accomplish this by fall maybe place a goal post with a pumpkin under it etc. Use inspiring quotes. Pay attention to see if the quotes make you smile or laugh or even tingle with energy.
Set your intention. When you bring your board to life. There is energy in your vision, and it grows with the intention. It is like you are putting the universe on notice that this is my path and this is my intentions of what I am expecting. Here is what I see happening in my life. I am inviting your guidance and into my path for completion. You are aligning your energy, your vision, your actions with the universe. Be open to manifesting the reality of it. Don’t hesitate, don’t be nervous, do it. You may want to journal along the way as things start to happen, Use different colored sticky notes for ideas and actions.
Things to avoid: Not displaying it. Not paying attention to it. Not being specific. Not being honest with yourself. Don’t expect things to happen without putting in the work.
Remember, a light won’t turn on without your flipping the switch.
Blessings
Stacey
